Gene Ontology

From the FGFR3 Uniprot page I followed the link that contained the complete Gene Ontology annotation.
Under the component section, basically all of the term names involved the plasma membrane. This makes sense as this is where the protein is located.

The function portion lists several different fuctions, including ATP binding, receptor activity, and protein kinase activity, and obviously "fibroblast growth factor receptor activity."

I was interested in the the "fibroblast growth factor receptor signaling pathway." The definition of this biological process was: The series of molecular signals generated as a consequence of a fibroblast growth factor receptor binding to one of its physiological ligands.Loading
